to paint just to paint

When we are writing a plastic activity, we chose the support, colors, useful. On the other point opposed to this idea, Arno Stern describes his technique for painting and free expression. Two opposing ideas.

What is the objective approach? Stern speaks of painting for painting, without intent tocommunicate, create a work of art or compete among children. The child has all the tools and colors to use on the support.

From my experience, if the child does not focus on the use of certain materials, that is, ifwe offer all the possibilities together, focus on what they enjoy most and always use the same resources.

And you, what do you think?

in the chemistry lab: lava lamp

I recently had the chance to talk to a chemist and asked her for classroom experiments for children. Given the budget so low that we have, a few things occurred to her. But whatever you think or need, often we can find it on the Internet. Here I have come across different locations, which will be described in future publications, where they propose learning situations.

Children often become mesmerized with this type of lamps, where fluids go up and down, crossing but do not mixing ...

To perform the experiment in the classroom, I propose that the ingredients already measured, ie that children only have to mix what they propose.

We need:
  • milk
  • vegetable oil (sunflower)
  • effervescent tablet
  • bottle or a glass or clear container
The video above explains how the experiment
